Working in the studio on new music
Recordings going really well
Dec. 22, 2010 - We've been laying down some tracks of some new songs that we have been playing live the last few months. Just before we went into the studio, I had a party where we jammed all night. Alex came with a friend from Chile called Angelo who was also jamming with us, playing a charango and pan flute. It was a magical evening and the music just flowed, so we invited Angelo to play with us on a couple of tracks and it came out, in my opinion, amazing. I think we really got a good blend of middle eastern music with Andean sound, it is definitely unique.
Kickin' Show at Operaen last Friday
Apr. 12, 2010 - I was just watching the video of our last show on Friday at Operaen and there're some really good moments. The energy intensified and built up very gradually and we definitely ended on a really high note. Also having Caf come in and do his thing, and the horns as well, turned the whole thing into a giant party. I had a great time. I will post some videos shortly of the show to youTube and I think I will work on "Connection", which is a new song I just wrote in Lake Titicaca in Peru last month. I'm also very happy with our overall sound, it's in a good place. Anyway, feeling positive...peace
"Gidul Beiti", played coast to coast tonight on the Dan Behrman Show, Radio-Canada from Montreal
Man, that was fun, we had a party going on and I received an email from Dan Behrman, that he will play "Gidul Beiti" on his show. So at 2:00 Am we put the show on during the party, and right around 3:00, Dan said (in French) "mon amie, Didi Levy, ... Gidul Beiti", and that cued in the reggae.

We are now recording some new songs, funky stuff with Laurant Fricaults on drums, Patrick Amoebeng on bass and Soren Andersen. We spent the last weekend in our makeshift studio laying down some basic tracks. It's been going slow, but we are really working hard on getting some tight grooves and make the music flow. We will be playing some of the new tunes like "Equation" and "It" in the upcoming gigs. I'm looking forward to seeing the response.
The song "Just Love" has been played several times on the show Soul Lounge.
